Yes, I Volunteered

I am honored to be accepted as a Connecticut SAQA co-representative. I will be working along side Jan Doyle to inspire our local chapter of art quilters and fiber enthusiasts to reach their goals.

The image below was shown during a recent SAQA conference call during which three state reps (from California, Nevada and Pennsylvania) described how their chapters were able to raise additional funding to support workshops and outside speakers.   The PA chapter members made 4"x 6" fabric postcards to sell at their art exhibit. The PA-rep said the artwork flew off the shelves priced at $50 unframed and $100 framed.

Jan Doyle Interviews Mary Lachman on BCTV

In late July, Jan Doyle interviewed me and Christina Blais for her program Wyse Talk.  Filmed at Branford Community Access TV, Christina and I share information about the beginnings of SAQA and how it has grown in the past thirty years.  Viewers will learn how to join SAQA, what happens at regional meetings, and the benefits of membership.  (My husband, Dominick, manned the close-up camera.
